I think the solid colored basic tee is a part of everyone's wardrobe...........the plain janes wear it simply with denims for a casual look, while the more fashionably adventurous ones like us layer it with tops, jackets, spaghettis & halters............

I got bored of seeing so many basic tees lying around in my house & decided to revive my designing & embroidering skills (was glad to realise that the work ed classes in school finally paid off!).

What follows is the result - 2 tees that I made for my sis & she willingly modelled for the pix.

The tees are available in other colors & designs as well. Price of each tee is Rs. 500/- (shipping charges extra).

Keep following...........there's more to come........

P.S. - If u want to order these tees, pls mail me at

The Flower Bed tee - This is one of my personal favs, colorful, fun & young!

The Bookworm tee - This was one which I specially made for my sis, didn't find a more apt phrase to describe her.........caption can be different for whoever I'm making it for....

Hope u guys liked the tees.........

Styling projects in college

by , in
Hey guys! Hope u all are keeping it stylish! Dug up some pix of styling projects I'd done while in college. Back then, we didn't have any professional or practical limitations, which made all these activities so much more fun!!! I remember getting all sorts of weird bits & pieces for the styling assignments & putting together multi-layered, whacky outfits.....many thanks to the juniors who readily agreed to model for us & tolerated all our fashion-driven insanities so sportingly! What you are going to see below are mostly avant-garde styling.....but something I'd awesome fun doing!!!

This outfit was styled with a Futuristic theme....used mostly t-shirts for layering, one striped tee is even being worn as a skirt. Also, lots of socks & leg-warmers used. A glove was also used on one foot.

Pop theme - bright, colorful, young.......lots of colors, mixing & matching of contrast colored socks, a can can underneath a skirt, total Uber-Hippie look!!!

Ethno-royal look & feel...........the setup, the pose, the Harems, the Kolhapuris, the Turban...........the top is just a piece of Gold leather wrapped as a tube, with a bolero on top....

Corporate diva with a Don't Care attitude! A gold bikini on top of a white tee......a reversible wrap skirt layered on a white skirt.......a tie worn as a belt........a tulle scarf around the necks - hope the guys at office will be able to work! ;)

A little black dress with a cancan underneath, a belt as a neckpiece & a flower in the casually tied hair - that's all you need to go rock the Party!!!!!!

Raas Leela 2150 : Krishna of the 22nd century romancing his beau, Radha. The monochromatic thme, the sporty, yet whacky look, the metal rod "flute", the foil "feather" on Krishna's head & the earphones on Radha's ears - a setting for a complete Techno-punk love story!

Homo Superior

by , in
Hi! Today I thought I'll share some pics that are very close to my heart........These are the outfits I had conceptualized, designed & made for my graduation collection. The theme was Homo Superior - taking the species of Homo Sapiens one step forward...
I had used fabrics such as suede, PVC coated polyester, leather finish fabric, net, corduroy & knits (some of the fabrics were a nightmare to stitch!). The whole color story was metallic in tone, green, lime, black, grey, yellow, silver & gold being the prominent hues.
Special thanx to sisters Soma & Neha Panda for being such sporting models! :)

Of Idols & Inspirations

by , in
FASHION : This term presented itself in a new way to me at the time when I was thinking of serious career options that'll pave a way for a bright future. At the time, Fashion Designing was quite an audacious career choice, Engineering & MBBS being the only 2 obvious options for a student from Science background. After fighting dedicatedly with my parents, sticking stubbornly to my decision & refusing to sit for any other aptitude tests or entrance exams, I sat for & cleared the NIFT exams. The rest, as they say, is history.

The decision of taking up Fashion as a career was influenced by several factors, one of them being the fact that, to me, style always came from within. The other big inspiration for the decision that changed my life was a quiet, sincere, but terribly talented man from my hometown who had made his presence felt across the oceans : Sabyasachi Mukherjee. I had avidly followed his journey into the world of Fashion, that had started from within the very walls in which I had my first brush with Fashion in its true form. The understanding of fashion & style, that was in me, was fully nurtured & developed into a substantial qualification in the four exciting, hard-working & fun-filled years that I had spent in NIFT, Kolkata. In the course of that time, I came to realise my love for Art appreciation, my interest in Indian Textiles, my passion for Styling & my love for Graphics. Also, my course made me an avid follower of Fashion trends, forecasts & shows. As a result, I came across another cult figure who had made a major impact on me as being one of the strongest pillars of the International Fashion scenario. The man was Alexander McQueen, the undisputed king of avant-garde couture, whose work had me mesmerized & awed beyond limit.

These two fashion forward men influenced me to become what I am today - fashionable, stylish & passionate about making the world a more stylish place to live in!
