Phew! I sure had a busy week..............& an even busier weekend!!!
My week was choc-a-block with work, work & more work.........not to mention, buying gifts for and celebrating Mom & Dad's marriage anniversary (28 years together........wow! they sure have tenacity!!), buying & sending gifts for a dear friend's b'day (who stays in another city), preparing & arranging for the numerous wedding parties that I'm due to attend in the days to come!
My weekend was loads of fun - two college mates (who were dating back at that time) finally tied the knot........had a gala time.........thanked them for hosting an unofficial re-union of us college friends & batch-mates. Caught up with people who had come down from all over the country for the wedding.........the Saturday night wedding party was followed by lunch on Sunday...............laughed & gossiped about all the silly li'l things we used to do in college!!! All in all......had an amazing weekend! :))
And what made it more exciting was my uncle & aunt's 40th wedding anniversary party that was held on Sunday night...........it was a lovely party - nice ambiance, fun with family, drinks & speeches under the chilly night sky, dinner in a poolside gazebo, games & gifts, and of course, lots of laughter! Generally, I go all desi & rig up some ethnic Indian outfit for such family parties.......but this time, I got bored with all my Indian outfits & wanted to "dress" up!

This is one of my very favorite dresses........it's jersey, hence very, very comfortable & it also has a very quirky neckline (which can't be seen here fully). The slight chill in the night air demanded the light jersey shrug (also, it was a family affair, where I couldn't bare much!).
The open-air party venue & the fact that there will be family all around, also made me pull out these black & blue fishnet stockings. Some sleek & classy jewelery & my favorite brooch.......& I was raring to go!
Black jersey dress: BK Market, Kolkata
Blue jersey shrug: Linking Road, Bandra, Mumbai
Trying to pose.........but this is the best that comes out after 3 hours of behaving & socialising........ :P
(Psst.........notice shimmer on eyes & liberal dose of mascara!)
My "make-up" consists of boldly outlined eyes, light shimmer on upper lids, a dash of mascara & nude glossy lips.
Silver & AD earrings: Archies Gallery, Kolkata
I kept the jewelery minimal as it was a semi-formal party at a club. My versatile brooch added the right touch of flamboyance.
Silver & pearl necklace: Infinity, gifted by friend
Crochet brooch: Suan Lim Night Bazaar, Bangkok
This chain link clutch added some glamour quotient along with the fishnet stockings! This was gifted by a friend who got it for me from Dubai.......ain't it super-cool? :)
Chain link clutch: Gifted by friend
Watch: Kenneth Cole, Kolkata
The blue roses on my stockings complemented my blue shrug. And these black ballerinas are my current favourites........they are as comfortable as they are stylish!
Fishnet stockings: Platinum Mall, Bangkok
Black ballerinas: Aldo, Kolkata
I have a packed week ahead............what with one of my closest friends/sisters getting married..........her wedding & the accompanying events will take up most of my week. Hope I can come up with posts of the outfits I'll be sporting for that.
How did all of your weekend go???
Till next time, keep it stylish......
Love,
Polka Princess
