There's good news for everybody here in India, specially parents (read Mothers) - Tommy Hilfiger is launching their Children's Wear collection in the country - & how!
I had a fabulous time going through the brand's collection images, stories & inspirations for the collections and the whole brand identity & concept...........and you should just see the grand launch they did in Delhi!!! The stores are just looking perfect!
So, here's my take on the Fall '10 Collection of Tommy Hilfiger Children's Wear, which in a few words is "cool, fun & fabulous"!!!
The Tommy Hilfiger Childrens' Wear line absolutely echoes the core identity of the (parent) brand. It's cool, confident & classically American - everything that Tommy Hilfiger stands for. Their vibrant & fun Fall '10 Collection is in stores right now & it's one rocking collection if you ask me!!!
Rewind to 1999 & who even bothered about kids' fashion??? But fast forward to 2010 & you get the most premium & fashionable (read "in the trend") collections for toddlers of 2 years of age as well as young adults who are 14 years old. Kids' fashion is now as important as fashion for adults & not only are the collections made as per the current trends, but there are equally interesting inspirations & stories behind the making of these collections.
I'll start off with a very versatile & very quirky style from the collection - reversible jackets for both boys & girls - warm & smart with lots of pockets & available in solid colours............this style effortlessly multiplies the options of outfits for the li'l ones!
Another very prominent style from the collection are these quilted & paneled jackets with pockets, trims & badges.....these designs are inspired by the NASA Moon missions & space activities....available in prism pink for girls & peru blue for boys, these are fully equipped to keep the kids warm & stylish!!
Next up are these fabulous hoodies in fun colors!!! Inspired by the cool & urban vibe of New York City, these pieces sport bold graphics & prints with pocket details........just perfect for taking your kid from hanging out with friends to their very first party! :)
But of course, how can there be any Tommy Hilfiger collection without the brand's iconic plaids & checks??? These super-cool shirts in bold checks & bright colors scream classic Tommy Hilfiger! These styles have both an urban as well as an outdoor feel to them at the same time...
The collection also has some very smart, practical & comfortable bottoms! There are denims with special washes, soft chinos & knitted leggings. The denims come in mid tones with rugged & distressed washes for boys & with crystal detailing for girls........the washed chinos are available in colors like Black, Navy, Khaki & Sand...........and the knit leggings for girls in Pink & Purple can be comfortably teamed with tunics or tees for a smart casual look!
Aren't these absolute girlie pieces cute??? These pleats, ruffles & bows have been inspired by the beauty of nature & the outdoors in general. These knit dresses in vibrant colors, skirts in ginghams & plaids and the whole ruffled & pleated look will make your li'l girl the most adorable one wherever you take her!!!
And finally we come to the accessories. Just like the rest of the collection, the Winter accessories too are smart, cool, & urban in a typical Tommy Hilfiger manner! There are striped knitted skull caps for boys & girls with embroidered logo & graphics (in case of boys) & cute little knit rosettes (in case of girls). Also, to keep your li'l ones warm & comfortable in the cold are brightly patterned & striped knitted scarves, mufflers & mittens. The accessories are perfect for adding that smart & fashionable touch to the cool clothes while at the same time keeping the kids warm & nicely wrapped!
