Sun + sand + sea = a happy me!!!

An impromptu li'l trip to a  nearby seaside town with family..............and am back fresh & tanned!!!

Sorry, but I didn't get any time to notify you all about my wee li'l absence from Blogger (actually from the Internet, for that matter!) for the past 4 days..............am really really backlogged as far as reading all your lovely posts & commenting on them are concerned.......but am working on it..........& will catch up soon! Promise!!! :)

The place I was dragged to by my family (I was in no mood to go to some sunny place & get tanned in this heat!!) is a small seaside town in a neighboring state which is a hub for sun-n-sand maniacs throughout the year! Even this fierce heat & high temparatures couldn't deter hordes of tourists from thronging the place.............& on reaching, I felt as if the whole world & it's neighbors are gathered there to celebrate some obsolete tradition I didn't know about!! But at the end of 4 relaxing days there, I felt that the sun, the sand & the sea was quite rejuvenating for the mind & body..............& hence am back now with new vigour & energy............and of course, with an outfit post for you all! :))

As you can see, I simply couldn't resist doing a shoot on one of the beaches............& while at it, I kept on wishing (all in vain) that if only I had such beautiful locations to shoot at nearer to home!! Sigh!

This is at the Sun Temple at Konark, near Puri (that's the place I visited) which is one of the oldest & most important monuments in India. The whole temple was carved out of stone eons ago by skilled workers. There are intricate carvings & idols all over the temple.
But sadly, most of it is getting damaged & breaking off in places (because of various external circumstances like vandalism, natural disasters etc.), for which renovation work is being done by the Govt of India to restore the heritage.

The Chandrabagha beach is around half an hour's drive from the main town of Puri............but it's a much cleaner & nicer one, less-frequented by the masses. I was in a sunny mood to match the holiday vibes & thought I'll go for bright blocks of colors for a whole day's outing!!

This tank is one of my fav thrifted pieces........its soft, comfy & the color went beautifully with my coral capris. The cotton capris,  on the oether hand, were a aperfect pair for the beach..........lightweight, comfortable & great for travelling all over the place in!

I threw on the shrug to keep the wind out & some of the tan too!!! Again, the cobalt perfectly complemented the kelly green of the tank & the coral of the capris! :)

As for the accessories, I went all Boho with a string of beads, a stack of multi-colored bangles, my super-cute bow ring & a very sassy denim flower brooch......

And of course, my loyal pair of aviators to keep the blinding sun out of my eyes! Also note, my peace sign ear studs & bright green nail paint!!!

P.S.: The  striped wooden bangles came the other day in a surprise gift package sent by an adorable friend, along with lots of other awesome stuff, which you'll get to see here sooner or later! It was just super-sweet of her! Thanx a bunch Susha!!! Mwah! :)

P.P.S: Can you see my sis on the other side of the camera reflected in my sunnies??? ;)

Last, but not the least, my favorite pair of Puma flip-flops was my constant companion on my seaside sojourn. And the multicolored beaded anklet adds the perfect Boho touch! :))

Only to roll out again...
