A Denimatic Easter!

by , in
I think there's one thing in this world that makes all of us equally happy - and that's extended holiday weekends! ^_^

Hope you all have had a lovely Good Friday and have some awesome plans for a great Easter Sunday ahead! Enjoy tons of prettily decorated eggs & bunnies and have a wonderful time with your family & friends (after all, that's what festivals are all about...right?)

I'm, as always, gonna work this Sunday.......thanks to this really important exhibition I'm participating in on Monday!!! This is one of the biggest fashion events that happen in the city and hence, I'm a bit upbeat about how my products are going to fare and what kind of a response my brand will get.....*fingers crossed*...wish me luck guys!! And for those who are from Calcutta, please, please plllllllllleeeeaaaaasssseeee visit FUSS at the Oberoi Grand Hotel on the 1st of April, anytime in between 11am - 9pm and make sure you drop by the Howrah Bridge stall! [And no.....it's not an April Fool trick I'm pulling on you!]

On the outfit front, I'm sharing something I had worn more than a month back, on a day trip to the nearby artistic town of Shantiniketan. A beautiful, enriching day full of Tagore, art, ethnicity, heritage & loads of fun!

This denim shirt-dress is one of the saviours in my wardrobe. One of those eternally versatile pieces that never fail you? Yes, this is one of those!

As you can see, Shantiniketan had some pretty & creative places to watch out for. This is a common man's house, on the outskirts of the town, which was designed & built by the current occupant's father. We were passing by on the road outside this house and it's uniqueness & beauty compelled us to stop and explore it a bit (Whatever could be done, without intruding on the privacy of the occupants)!

And then, there were these vast wooded areas where one can easily feel like an Yash Raj heroine, running around trees (you would preferably have to dress up in chiffon sarees or kurtas with flowing dupattas for that!)Here's me, doing my bit of tree-hugging poses! :P

Also, this bag is one of my favorite thrift finds of recent times - it's actually a very hippie-esque tote made of various mismatched scraps of hand-sewn fabrics!! Colorful, fun, one-of-a-kind and thrifted! #win

I'm frantically working on my Spring Summer 2013 collection now.......maybe I'll share some snaps with your guys soon! :))

My nerves do funny things to me whenever an exhibition comes knocking on the door! I think I'm not gonna sleep much for the next two nights! *sigh*

Also, don't forget to enter the amazing giveaway going on at the blog and Facebook page right now!

Have a happy Easter Sunday fellas!!!

Old Outfit And New Giveaway

by , in
The recently concluded Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week in Delhi and the just-starting Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai got me dreaming of runways and lights....of catwalk music and the adrenaline rush of being at a fashion show.....

So much so that I finally thought it the right (and high) time to pull out these much-pushed-back photos from the back of my archives. I had been fortunate enough to have been invited to cover the Blender's Pride Fashion Tour in my city last September and although, I had been efficient enough to blog about the shows I attended, the outfit I wore to the event could not make it to my blog page till today!

And so, here it is.......an outfit I wore to a fashion event 6 months back......in an ode to the fashion events going on around the country right now.....! :))

Ok....even I don't know where I was looking....! :P
But jokes apart, dig my retro avatar!! ;)

Of course, the highlight of the outfit was one of my favoritest pairs of tights ever - a tie n dye beauty by my talented designer buddy Amalraj Sengupta! It is a nostalgic souvenir from his AW '10 collection.

People all around almost started debates discussing whether my start-print blouse was Dev R Nil or Kallol Datta!
Well........no prizes for guessing...it was none! ;P

With some of my lovely fellow bloggers (though they are more of friends by now) at the event - Ayantika & Sayantani

Welcoming Spring with "I KNOW"

by , in
Ok......so, February's long gone........and we are well into March now.
March. My birthday month. well.....for that matter, even my birthday's gone! :P

It's safe to say that it has been a great year till now......January gave me the chance of a weekend getaway to visit something as interesting as coal mines (of which I had read in Geography lessons only till then); February saw me successfully completing a month-long shopping ban (I was seriously not aware that I had the will power in myself to not buy anything for a whole month!) and March.....oh! March!!! What to say! The month started off with a bang, what with my birthday being celebrated with close friends & family aaaannnnnndddd my parents giving me the biggest and BEST surprise of my life - my very own NIKON D90!!! Yes.......the same one that I've been dreaming of buying (and secretly saving up for) since, like, as long as I can remember!!! *sigh of happiness*

So you see.........I'm eagerly waiting for whatever more this year has in store for me! :D

In other news, Spring hardly ever made an appearance before Summer took over in full swing! Man!! It's so freaking HOT, I tell you! *phew*

Now, I've already told you guys about this brand of smart, cool clothes called 'I KNOW'. The talented designer duo Timsy & Siddharth of I KNOW sent over this pretty shirt-dress in bubblegum pink with floral panels quite some time back. But I knew that it would be almost sacrilege to wear this nice li'l piece of prettiness before Spring! So I waited patiently till the birds sang out and the trees bloomed over with bright blossoms!!!

I KNOW that a li'l bit of florals & a splash of pink goes a long way...!

So, I wore this beauty on one of the rare 'Spring' days.......and I decided to go all out with the florals - check the earrings, bag, ring & brooch!!! :))

I fell in love with the hue of pink and the pretty floral panels....the smart collar, long placket and puffed sleeves satisfy my unending love for details...... and I can't even begin to tell you how comfortable the shirt-dress is!!! 'I Know' this is going to be one of my summer staples, for sure!

I broke the overdose of pinks & florals with the black leggings. In fact, I can't wait to pair up this versatile beauty with bright stockings for a color blocked look or with denim roll-ups to channel grunge with a touch of romance!

A dainty stack of arm candy, floral heart ring and hot pink nails added to the 'Spring' flavour! :)

Shirt-dress: C/O I KNOW
Black leggings: BK Market, Kolkata
Floral bag: Esbeda, gifted
Floral print earrings: Platinum Mall, Bangkok
Flower & pearls brooch: MFA via India Kitsch
Watch: Skagen, gifted
Bracelets: Accessorize, Guess
Floral heart ring: Accessorize
Coral & gold ballerinas: Enroute

This brand has loads of smart & refreshing range of dresses, tops, shirts, traousers & jackets to offer for both men & women! If you want to look chic, feel comfortable and stand out in a crowd, I absolutely recommend I KNOW! You can even hop over to their website by clicking on the I KNOW widget on the right hand side bar of this blog.

Have a lot lined up for you fellas!!!!! Specially now that my new camera's here! :D

I'm super-excited about a shoot we have planned tomorrow for the Spring-Summer '13 collection of my brand Howrah Bridge! Hope to come back with some lovely pictures for you all!

Have a happy Sunday peeps!!!!!! ^_^

Love shmove,
Anupriya DG
