Love, Sex Aur Dokha

A couple of weekends back, I went for a date night at one of my favorite eating joints in town - Jhaal Farezi.
More than the food, it's the décor & ambience of the place that makes me go back there again & again! And not only do I frequent the place, I also recommend it to all & sundry and drag along anyone remotely interested in accompanying me! [On the day documented here, that person was my guy!] :)

The interiors of Jhaal Farezi has been done by my once-professor-now-friend Swarup Dutta (who calls himself a 'Scenographer') and has been quite a talking point since the property opened its doors to the public a few months back. The walls are covered with quirky wall art with ample use of funky phrases & film dialogues. Also noteworthy is the smart use of random vintage items collected from all over the place as part of the décor - think old Coca Cola crates, vintage hairdresser's chairs, mirrors fixed in lifebuoys, lights in mason jars, old steam engine lanterns, water bottles used by soldiers, gunny bags for floor cushions & much more! It's almost like a museum where you keep on discovering delightful old treasures at every step!

And of course, nothing beats the comfort of maxis on sultry summer evenings! <3

Disclaimer: The title of the post is the text on the plate that takes central place of pride among the wall décor. It means 'Love, Sex And Cheating' - a phrase that sums up our fast-forward, metropolitan lives quite well.

Tomorrow is the wedding of my school-time bestie.........and my excitement knows no bound right now!!! Thinking back about those carefree & innocent school days spent giggling & playing together makes the fact that we have all grown up to start families of our own seem quite surreal! *sigh*

And day after tomorrow, I'll be on my way to Chennai! Fun times ahead with my favoritest cousin (who stays there) and blogger pal Sayantani!!! Can't wait to have a relaxing holiday - already dreaming of walks by the beach and a weekend getaway to Pondicherry or Mahabalipuram! ^_^

See ya all on the other side of the trip! Keep it stylish, peeps!

Hugs,
