Some Saree Swank {Review: Jomso.com}

There are online shopping portals.
And then, there are online shopping portals specializing only in Indian ethnic wear.
Like Jomso.com
When this all-Indian-going-global website contacted me for a review, I was sceptical, for I'm not someone who generally shops from websites that stock all things ethnic. I mean, don't get me wrong. I'm all for Indian wear and I love the elegance of the six yards or the grace of anarkalis. But, I generally keep my eyes on portals that don't restrict my choices.
Little did I know that my ideas were about to be challenged!
Surfing Jomso.com was like walking through an Indian wonderland - their vast range of sarees, suits, lehengas, kurtas and even ethnic jewellery & bags left me feeling as lost-yet-excited as Alice...!
I was spell-bound to see such a well-curated collection of clothes & accessories for every purpose, be it casual, work, party, bridal as well as some Bollywood-inspired pieces that are bound to make you feel like a star without burning a hole in your pocket! :)

When the guys from Jomso.com sent me the picture of the saree they wanted me to review, I was instantly sold because of the lovely color combination & the smart, yet feminine look of the saree. And by the time I received the product in all its glory, I knew that I wanted to do something different with it!
The saree looked every bit as appealing up-front and the material & trims were quite good. The biggest advantage of this saree was it's light weight. Heavy & unmanageable sarees are big turn-offs as far as I'm concerned! Henceforth, if someone asks me about the best place to buy sarees online, I would suggest Jomso right away!

Since the website is all about upholding the glamour of ethnic wear, I thought it would be fun to style this saree in a contemporary, westernised way, for a change. Everybody already knows how to drape these six yards in the traditional Indian ways....so why not spice up the tale with a little twist and wear the saree in a slightly different way? ;)

The saree came with this blue brasso with paisley motif blouse piece. But, since I was dying to flaunt the drape to you guys, I didn't wait long enough to get the blouse stitched. Hopefully, the next outing of the saree will see it being paired with its original blouse!

I know you missed it at first glance & thought "what was so different in that?"....but look closely and you'll see my denim-ed leg sticking out from the folds of the georgette saree! ;)

Yes, I let my vintage-y floral denims show and started the drape with pleats from the middle which went on to the pallu - smart, chic & very, very convenient, I tell you!

I chose a contrast fuschia lace Howrah Bridge blouse to bring out the colors on the saree!

I think I can even go to war in this!
If you ask me, it's the perfect way to drape the six yards, sans the hassle & headache of tripping over the folds of fabric all around your legs. :)
