Comfy with a capital C {Review: PrettySecrets.com}

by , in
It's been raining cats & dogs since the past few days and in spite of  having a lot of errands to run, sometimes I'm being forced to sit indoors!
And nowadays, time spent in the confines of the four walls does not mean having your nose buried in a book or even watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S reruns in your PJs - it means spending some more endless hours on the big bad world of the web!!
I sometimes don't know where the time flies when I'm lost in the world of blogs, social networking & online shopping...*sigh*
Hence, it's no surprise that I collaborate with a lot of websites on the blog as well, reviewing their products and giving my readers an idea about the wesbite. You all must have read my first review of PrettySecrets.com, an Indian shopping portal that specialises in lingerie, swimwear, activewear, nightwear & shapewear. I found it to be a great website with a hand-picked range of quality products from various well-known brands, good service, fast delivery (and free too!) et all!

So, I was elated, to say the least, when the lovely people from PrettySecrets.com wanted me to review their new Comfy-Fit range of bras! I checked out the link to find a volley of vibrant colors staring me in the face and that, coupled with the fact that the website described them as their "most comfortable bra yet" cinched the deal. I was sold. :)

The packaging was as cute & as discreet as ever! I'm a sucker for this pretty pink box they send over!! <3

I unfolded the protective layers of paper to find my three gems nestled cosily in the depths.
Even though the vibrant color options forming the range were too tempting, I had finally settled for one ubiquitous Classic Black, one much-necessary Soft Nude & one refreshing Morning Aqua

It was a lightly padded,  underwired style made of very soft cotton and the fit was perfect! Also, +1 for pocket-friendly prices!! I can totally see myself going back to order some of the other colors that I can't seem to get out of my mind! ;)

And look what I found inside my parcel! A surprise gift of two super-chic pop-art coasters!!!
Isn't that so cool??? <3 <3 <3

And what's more? PrettySecrets.com is giving you all - yes, you, my readers & followers - a chance to buy these pretty goodies at a whooping discount! :D

Use this coupon code - PSBLW9ZUJGWA - to get 500/- bucks off on an order of 1499/- & above!
Isn't that fantabulous???
So, what are you doing here still? Go, shop now!
[Offer is valid till the next one month only]

Nothing, nothing worked out the right way!
Everything is in a mess.

{Nail Tale} A French Half-Moon

by , in
Hello! Hola! Namaste!

How are you peeps doing?
How's the week going for y'all???

I'm busy, to say the least...! Work, work & more work!! Phew!
But alongside, preparations for the big 'happening' are on in full swing too!!! Hopefully, this hair-pulling, nail-biting suspense will end with my next post! Keep those wishes coming fellas! I need 'em all!!!

For now, I recently realised that I had never quite done a Nail Art post in spite of being someone who likes to extend her creativity to the cuticles. So, here's some nail art for you guys to get inspired by! (Hopefully, my attempts will serve as inspiration to some of you out there who are not yet experts at this art!)

Disclaimer: All nail art have been done free hand with the nail paint brush, without the use of any guides, professional brushes or any other nail art tools.

Maybelline Color Show nail paints are the next best beauty products I have used after Pond's BB+ cream!
The vibrant range of fun colors coupled with a smooth texture & the unbelievably pocket-friendly price tag makes me feel like buying the whole range at one go!!
No, I did not indulge in that whim. Yet.
But I do have enough colors already...as you'll see as you scroll down! :)

My Colorbar neons come a close second to Color Show as far as nail paints are concerned.
And as I have told you once here, pink & orange is my new fav combination! <3

I was not over my love for the pop-hued Color Show range, when Maybelline launched the Color Show Glitter Mania. This time, I did not fall in love. I fell in lust!
This was the first mani I did with the Starry Nights glittery black combining it with a pastel Blueberry Ice.
But I already had a hundred ideas involving this sparkling stunner running through my head!

And this is what I have on my nails as I type this post. :)
Yes, am still not over all the sparkle! And the fact that this nail paint is named after one of my favorite Van Gogh creations helps, of course!

As you can see, I'm more of a French mani & half-moon mani kind of person when it comes to nail art.
Not to forget that these styles are quite easy to achieve without tools, yet gives a chic look! #win

Just waiting for the weekend now....! Have some fun plans (including something for the blog!)!!
What are you all planning to do this weekend? Tell me!

Style Remix: Dior Bag

by , in
I was always someone who trusted people blindly.
Always the gullible one. One who would believe anything & anybody.

My mom has been chiding me for this trait of mine ever since I remember.
According to her:
Cause - I'm stupid
Fact - I'm gullible
Effect - I get cheated/fooled/tricked/hoodwinked

Over the years, with all kinds of experiences I had to face thanks to my trusting instincts, I have sobered up quite a bit. Till the beginning of the year, I used to think that things are better now. I can recognise the cheats for who they are & I'm not such an easy target any more.

But, I guess, I was wrong! :(

It's not only from the people you don't know or strangers that you have to save yourself from. One has to trust selectively even when it comes to our own acquaintances!
And then again, there are times when you put blind faith on someone to get something done....and things end in a mess, coz you had not got it done yourself, but depended upon someone else for it. Maybe that other person had no intention of messing things up, but he/she was not to be given the responsibility of your trust.
In the past 5 months (and a few days), quite a few things in my life got screwed up just because I trusted in someone else to carry out some actions for me. People whom I thought to be (more) responsible, made mistakes which cost me loads of money, pain, headache & stress!
So, another lesson learnt from the great teacher called Life: Do not, I repeat, do not trust/depend on anyone else to make things right for you. If you need something done, go out & do it yourself. You are the only one who knows what's best for you, no one else is to be trusted to have that knowledge!!!

Of course, I emerged on the other side of these experiences - stronger, smarter & wiser. :)

I had scored this look-alike Lady Dior in purple on one my trips to Bangalore. I got this at 0.0001% of the price of the original classic from the house of Dior.....but then, obviously, I have to rob a bank if I want to buy the real one, so this knockoff makes me feel 'Lady' enough and stops me from being a criminal! #win ;)

I have taken this beauty out on numerous dates and  though of sharing some of the many ways you can style this bag. As you can see, even though it's a very stark hue like purple, still I didn't have much difficulty wearing it with all types of colors!

Which is your favorite look? Do let me know!!!

Take care, peeps!

Not far from trends...

by , in
I'm excited, to say the least!
Something big's gonna happen. And happen soon!!!
But mum's the word right now...coz I don't wanna jinx it. [Yeah, yeah! We all have our own silly superstitions!]

Hope I can share the news with you all in the next post! Please wish me luck that things work out fine by then! *fingers crossed*

On the other hand, work's crazy right now! I'm inundated with orders, orders & more orders!! *phew*
I've been trying to manage my time efficiently between being at the workshop, sourcing materials, handling clients, answering e-mails et all; while trying to sneak in a few hours of love & laughter either with friends, family or the guy! :)

I wore this on a shopping trip with the sister a few days back....hence the comfy turned up colored pants, the big tote for carrying all the new purchases & the Indian chappals (sandals) for the hours of walking around the mall!

I love wearing this monochrome striped top with my colored pants and then adding a pop of a 3rd color in the form of accessories!! Easy peasy styling tip that can give you different looks with the same clothes!

[Monochrome striped top: Max Fashion | Pink denims: Shoppers Stop | Tote: Max Fashions | Beaded necklace: FabIndia | Green ring: BK Market, Kolkata | Black watch: c/o Dresslily.com | Embroidered leather sandals: Handicraft Park, Gujarat]

And a couple of days back, while browsing through Pinterest, I came across this image on the right hand side. The picture is from the Forever 21 website.
We are not far from the trends, eh? :D

Oh!! How I'm craving the weekend!
Specially coz I'm gonna meet my blogger girls on Saturday evening! And boy, we are one boisterous gang of girls!!!
Have a rock'in & roll'in weekend peeps! <3

Hugs,
Anupriya DG
