enSoie Kolkata Blogger's Meet

by , in
Born and brought up in the City of Joy, and being a shopaholic by nature, there are very few stores or shopping haunts in the city that I don't know about or haven't been to.

Hence, when enSoie held a blogger's meet in association with Pen Twister and invited us over for celebrating their first anniversary in the city, I was pleasantly surprised to find myself in a store that was as beautiful as it was exciting with a diverse range of products from clothes and accessories to home decor and gift items.
A Zurich-based company, that opened its first Indian store in Kolkata, enSoie is an international fashion label that is renowned for its quality, cuts and craftsmanship. The collections scream of Swiss inspirations in the form of bright colors, Nordic patterns, abstract motifs and an abundance of Ginghams everywhere!

Radhika Joshi is the young entrepreneur who handles the enSoie Kolkata store, alongside running her own fashion label Ornaete. A spunky, enthusiastic woman, Radhika has big plans for enSoie and Ornaete in the years to come. She aims at making enSoie a must-visit shopping destination for the city's fash-frat and works hard towards achieving that goal. The results, well....it was all there for us to see!

Our very own city blogger Nikita Agarwal of Pen Twister did a fab job in co-hosting the meet with Radhika of enSoie. The activities, the arrangements and the attention to each & every detail made this meet quite an enjoyable experience!!

And with the festive season on in full swing, all you Kolkatans, do drop in at enSoie on Elgin Road (near the Elgin Road Post Office crossing) to give your wardrobe and home a fashionable makeover!

On another note, HAPPY DUSSEHRA to all my fellow Indians!!

May good always win over evil and may we be able to make this world a better place to live in, not only for ourselves, but for everyone!

Now that the Durga Puja/Navratri festivities are over, let's start preparing for Diwali!!!

Running Errands In Statement Jewelry {StylePrismxBangdarSarali}

by , in
Whoever has read this blog long enough would know that I'm a sucker for statement jewelry.
But statement pieces have their own restrictive characteristics that make wearing them for everyday casual outings an outrageous idea! As it is, some of my eclectic-to-the-average-human-eye sartorial choices end up in making me the centre of attraction at many a public place; add to that the extremity of a statement accessory and I will certainly be the perfect victim of shameless stares and excited roadside gossip.

But when a certain piece of beauty made its way from the creative studio of a noteworthy brand into my closet, I knew it was time to flaunt statement jewelry outside the jazzed-up confines of an event or occasion.

Bangdar Sarali is a brand whose work I have been admiring since the past year or so. The whole idea of using fused glass beads with enchanting swirls of colors to make stunning pieces of jewelry makes this brand one-of-its-kind. Small wonder then, that this jewelry brand finds mention in almost all major fashion editorials and has some top-of-the-game Page 3 women as their clients. Started by two friends, this brand transforms their inspirations into beautiful colour stories that amalgamate into the glasses that fuse together to form their jewelry.
When Bangdar Sarali sent in a pair of earrings from their latest collection, I could all but drool all over the pretty thing!
I felt I had to do something different with these beauties than the regular outfit post - so, I thought, why not take them out with me for a day and show the world that such statement pieces can be worn for running errands too? :)

Started the day with some book-browsing and shopping...

Faced the maddening city traffic...

Gossiped, laughed, chilled, unwinded and hogged over some yummilicious red velvet cake at one of my favourite cafes...

And stopped to admire the newest love of my life whenever I got the chance!

Now that you know how effortlessly chic such a statement piece of jewelry can turn out to be......go check out Bangdar Sarali's collection of accessories in vibrant hues & eye-catching shapes and turn heads even while running errands next time!

Don't forget to follow this amazing brand on Facebook and Instagram - @bangdarsarali for updates on some drool-worthy jewelry!

Hope you had as much fun reading this post as much as I had making this!!!

Gaurang Shah Celebrates "Uttariya"

by , in
With the festive season around the corner, designer Gaurang Shah launched a new range of dupattas and held a blogger's meet to showcase the collection and celebrate the art of draping.
Aptly titled "Uttariya", this event, held at the designer's Kolkata store, saw us ooh-ing and aah-ing over a range of gorgeous dupattas, while a couple of models showcased the different ways in which those beautiful pieces could be styled.

Crafted in Khadi, Patan Patola, Kanjeevaram, Paithani, Kota and Benarasi, each dupatta was a beautiful amalgamation of tradition and contemporary style.
Commenting on his “Uttariya” collection, Gaurang Shah said, “Dupattas undoubtedly look graceful & elegant. Modern traditional woman can carry almost everything. This is what inspired me to launch a unique collection of dupattas to celebrate the spirit of joy residing in every woman. I wanted to introduce this concept in Kolkata and give an opportunity to the beautiful women of the city to come and experience the variety of handcrafted dupattas made with exquisite designs & fabrics”.

With the use of rich materials such as Muga, Tussar, Organza, Silk and Linen; and intricate hand embroidery techniques like Chikankari, Parsi, and Zardosi; the talented designer has churned out elegant pieces of beauty that can dress you up in an instant and go on to become wardrobe heirlooms.

The rich fabrics and the vibrant colours make these dupattas as covetable as they are fashionable. and me, being the bright-colour-freak that I am, almost wanted to run away with the whole collection!

Do visit your nearest Gaurang Shah store or shop online from the website and add a gorgeous Gaurang drape to your wardrobe today! Trust me, one dupatta from the designer's new range can give your festive wardrobe a fashionable boost!

Time To #BringHairAalive: In Collaboration With Himalaya Herbals

by , in
My friends in primary school used to be awed at how nobody could hold all of my hair in one grasp.
Yes, my hair was thicker than most barettes could hold and longer than most ponies' tails.

Yet, as I shed my smaller school uniform for bigger sizes, my hair shed parts of itself, in revolution against the pollution, dirt and grime that makes up city air, and slowly diminished to half its original volume.

When Himalaya Herbals called bloggers to experience their hair-care therapy range, while taking expert tips from renowned beautician Bridgette Jones, at her salon, I knew it was time I got solutions for my tress troubles.

The girls were treated to the ultimate Himalaya Herbals hair-care therapy session - right from oil massaging to shampooing and conditioning - but me, being in a rush due to some urgent work, had to be satisfied with the tempting sight of my fellow bloggers enjoying the sessions......though I did get to talk to Bridgette about some of my hair problems and am glad I did!

I, like most of my fellow city women, face the ubiquitous nightmare of hairfall; along with dry, damaged, frizzy hair and split ends. According to Bridgette, only the proper hair-care routine can put an end to said problems and the method she suggested was easy, hassle-free and absolutely do-able at home!
  • Massage your hair and scalp with the Himalaya Anti-Hairfall Hair Oil and leave for 15-30 mins.
  • Wash off the oil with Anti-Hairfall (or Damage Repair - as per your need) Shampoo once.
  • Apply the Himalaya Anti-Hairfall Hair Cream to wet hair and leave in for 5 mins.
  • Rinse hair with water and towel dry hair as much as possible.
  • Apply Himalaya Anti-hairfall (or Damage Repair) Protein Conditioner to hair evenly and leave on for 5-10 mins. under a shower cap. The shower cap helps retain the moisture and the closed air acts in steaming the conditioner into the hair.
  • Rinse off with water.
  • Towel dry hair till 90% and rest 10%, blow dry with a hair dryer turned to medium settings.
Carry on this routine twice a week and voila!! You'll see soft, smooth and frizz-free hair (that doesn't fall out in clumps anymore) in a few weeks' time!

Am all set to try out this new regime......so be prepared to see my hair grow smoother and stronger!
If you are smart enough, you'll try it too! (For proof, see Bridgette's shiny cascade of hair in the second last image!)
