"I have enough shoes"
Said no girl ever.
At least not me.
I'm a BIG shoe lover. Make that huge, humongous, colossal.
I have a thing for shoes - pretty shoes, quirky shoes, cool shoes, bright shoes, glittery shoes and all other kinds in between.
So, when my city boasts of a fabulous young shoe designer, and when said designer happens to be a close friend, it was just a matter of time till I presented his work on the blog.
I met Rohan Arora at his very first Lakme Fashion Week outing, where he showed his funky debut collection, in 2010. We have been fast friends since then and I have seen this guy grow more amazing at his work, each day for the past five years!
Rohan Arora shoes combine Indian tradition with contemporary aesthetics, resulting in pieces that are one of a kind and extremely covetable! The man behind the label may have studied commerce, but found his true calling in churning out pair after pair of unique shoes, that are fit to find pride of place in any stylish woman's shoe closet. Hand-painted Bollywood stars adorn his chicken leather booties, while hand-embroidered ornamentations are seen on silk-wrapped wedges. The expertise, craftsmanship and aesthetics have made this label the go-to choice for customized bridal footwear in the city.
Me and Nikita from Pen Twister decided to jointly collaborate with Rohan Arora and create an exciting series of stories for you guys!!
We are styling the same pair of shoes in our starkly different sensibilities and showing you how a Rohan Arora pair can equally complement a western attire, an ethnic ensemble and fusion outfits with effortless ease!!
Here's my first look - a layered western outfit worn with the quintessentially Indian pair of Rohan Arora hand-embroidered jootis! Over to the pictures!
Surprised at how effortlessly a pair of jootis is complementing a maxi dress and blazer combo?
Well, that's the beauty of Rohan Arora shoes.......they can turn any outfit into a style statement!
Nikita, on the other hand, wore her Rohan Arora pair in a contemporary ethnic look. Here's how she styled the same shoes! Check out her post for more pictures!!
I'll be back with yet another fusion look featuring these embroidered beauties!!
Till then, keep it stylish, fellas!!!
Love,
Anupriya
