When a brand embraces the ethos of making "clothes for humans", you are intrigued to know how they will be living up to their new motto.
So, I was excited & apprehensive in equal parts when I got the invite to preview Benetton India's AW '16 collection at a special showcase by their new Creative Head Mr. Neeraj Sachdeva. Their new mantra "Dress up, Dress down, Dress to move" tickled my fashion fantasy and I was eager to see what they have in store for us!
Mr. Sachdeva turned out to be a fun-loving guy who took us through the idea behind Benetton's new ideology and showed us the line-up of their new AW '16 collection. According to him, the pieces were designed in such a way that the consumer can wear them individually, as well as mix & match them together to form ensembles. The inspiration behind the collection are their customers who inspired them to create pieces that can be molded into any style sensibility and embraced by different people with different aesthetics. The way a Benetton customer styles an UCB garment, giving it his or her own unique touch is what inspired the brand to bring out a collection that can be dressed up, dressed down or dressed to move, as per the wearer's style sensibility & personality!
The new AW '16 collection looked fresh & contemporary with a color palette consisting of classic neutrals, rich jewel hues, rustic earthy tones and pops of bright colors here & there. The styles are classic, yet contemporary and the silhouettes are effortless, yet stylish. The collection boasts of a medley of graphic prints & patterns ranging from stripes and geometric patterns to polka dots & color blocks. All in all, a collection that promises to be fun, fashionable & fabulous!

We were told to style a look from the AW '16 collection and I went for some print-mixing in a pair of comfy navy/white striped pants, worn with a color-blocked navy/green top and layered with a printed monochrome shirt thrown casually on. This look is cool, casual and can be effortlessly worn to an airport, a coffee date with the guy as well as a weekend trip with the girls!
Check out the new collection available at all UCB stores across the country now! There are a few cool pieces I have had my eyes on....and something in these pics might catch your eyes too! So, head over to the nearest Benetton store this weekend and take your pick from their cool new AW '16 range!
And this is what I flaunted before & after my mini UCB makeover....some light layering yet again with a long denim vest worn over a maxi tee with slits & aztec leggings. My new favourite accessories - asymmetric tassel necklace & metallic slip-ons - tagged along for a ride! :)
