A Pastel-Perfect Party Look To End The Year In Style!

Is it just me, or do you guys also feel that 2017 just went by in a flash???

I mean...it felt like it was January just yesterday! And now we are counting the days to the New Year already!!!
This weekend was much-awaited since the start of December...and all of you must be having exciting plans for Christmas! I am going on a weekend trip with my hubby and my sister to....well, stay tuned to my social media handles to know that! ;)
But, yes, I'm super-excited, as we haven't been able to go on too many vacays this year, thanks to loads of work pressure at both of our ends. So, we are absolutely looking forward to ending the year with a relaxing trip!!!

But, really, it's the season to eat, drink, be merry, and of course, party a lot! I'm sure most of you have plans to dance the nights away with friends, and are gearing up to put together glam-chic party outfits for the season.
But, this year, why not ditch the ubiquitous little black dress or metallic minis and go the pastel way instead? After all, Millenial Pink is a trending color, and an outfit mixing pretty pastels and bold blacks can make you stand out in the party crowd as well!
So, I thought of creating a party look for you guys which combines my love for layering (in an edgy, offbeat way) with a how to on wearing pastels for the wildest year-end parties.

Here are a few tips and tricks for adding a stylish edge to your glamorous party ensembles:
  • Ditch the dark tones and try pastel shades instead. Go for millenial pink, mint green or even serenity blue for a look that'll make you stand out in the black-clad crowd.
  • Layer, layer and then layer some more. Don't stop at throwing on a jacket over a top or dress. Try experimenting - knot up an embellished tee over a t-shirt dress, pair a sequined kimono over a mesh tank over a bralette, put on a velvet blazer over a plunging V-neck dress worn on top of a crisp white shirt - the options are endless, and the results can be surprising indeed!
  • Clutch bags are passé. Keep your hands free by opting for a patched or embellished or metallic backpack instead and dance the night away without having to worry about where to keep the bag!
  • Try pairing ethnic Indian-style statement jewellery with your western party looks for a fashion fusion that'll make you the star of the show! Think chunky jhumkas with sequined bodycons, stacked silver bangles with a leather mini skirt & lace crop top, or Afghani necklaces with a velvet slip dress & heels. Trust us, you'll turn heads wherever you go!
  • Steer clear of bold lips - reds and berries have been done to death - go for a nude pout instead. Smoke up your eyes for a dramatic allure and keep the lip color toned down with nude browns, or bare pinks. Of course, don't forget to go OTT with the highlighter and shine bright on NYE!
  • If the temperature decides to drop, you can even flaunt some cool stockings or knee-high socks to add a preppy vibe to your party look. Try fishnet stockings with over-the-knee socks worn on top for an edgy layer for your legs. You can even go for opaque stockings with festive socks and heels for a funky look.
  • Last, but not the least, be comfortable in what you wear. You don't have to wear something just because it's trendy - choose your clothes according to your body type, style and personality, and you'll slay it with your swag!
